Welcome to Shinness Lodge
Shinness Lodge is a large Highland house in Sutherland overlooking Loch Shin. It is available for rent to use as a comfortable base to explore the countryside, to fish or play golf or as a relaxing retreat.
Shinness sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms (plus a double sofa bed in a downstairs study) with a spacious living room full of deep armchairs and sofas, a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely veranda for outdoor eating. As a much loved family home the house has a warm and welcoming feel to it.
A cook and extra housekeeping can be arranged on request.
Sutherland's dramatic coastline with it's golden beaches is easily accessible and the wild peatlands are on the doorstep. Staying here you are within reach of famous golf courses and remote hill lochs full of wild brown trout.
There are good local restaurants and shops and transport links via Inverness Airport and Lairg railway station. But above all, at Shinness, you are away from the pressures of modern living, in a place where the air is clear, you can see the stars at night and the countryside is your playground.
