The estate is available for walking. It is used for sheep grazing and so dogs must be kept under control at all times.
There are short walks behind the house through our local birch woods where fungi grow in season, and along tracks to the crofting community at Shinness where there are a local game dealer and pottery.
Shinness is gently undulating with good views of the central Sutherland mountains from the high point a quarter of an hour's walk behind the Lodge. These mountains are easily accessible from Shinness.
